An Intimate Maroon Bells Wedding

Jessie and Thomas were the rare couple who reached out to me when they already had a venue lined up for their intimate wedding – and what a venue it was! The Maroon Bells are absolutely iconic in Colorado and I was SO excited to photograph their wedding there!

These two live here in Colorado with their dog River who was the star of the show at their wedding! Jessie is an environmental attorney so obviously we hit it off immediately (I went to law school for environmental law before I ended up in this crazy profession!). To say I was stoked when their day rolled around was a MASSIVE understatement!

We began the day at the condo they were renting where they were getting ready and then we all headed out to the Maroon Bells! The original plan was to get there a little early so we could hike up to Crater Lake before their ceremony but because we were running a little behind we just ended up hanging around near Maroon Lake – honestly if hanging out at gorgeous Maroon Lake is your BACKUP plan, you’re doing alright. This place is just stunning!

We explored for a bit and took some photos and soon their friends and family arrived and they had the sweetest ceremony in the amphitheater with the Bells as the backdrop. After River signed their marriage license with his paw print (my favorite Colorado tradition!), everyone headed to the French Alpine Bistro in Aspen to celebrate with delicious food. It was perfect!
