Kat + Ashton’s Estes Park, Colorado, Wedding
A few weeks ago I kicked off my wedding season in a pretty amazing way with Katharine and Ashton’s Estes Park, Colorado wedding. It was a beautiful day complete with amazing scenery, sweet people, and a perfect laid-back mountain vibe.
Katharine and Ashton chose the stunning Overlook Ranch in Estes Park for their wedding and I can see why! This was a new venue for me and I’m hoping to get to go back many, many more times! If you want an earthy Colorado mountain wedding, Overlook Ranch is PERFECT. The view of Long’s Peak and Mt Meeker from the ceremony site was pretty insane and what’s even cooler is that Ashton has that very “skyline” engraved on his wedding band.
This wedding had a boho vibe with loads of greenery (check out Katharine’s King Protea bouquet!!). Her dress and flower crown were very Jenny Gump-esque … which she was STOKED about. I’ve gotten to know these guys pretty well over the course of their engagement and I can say that their wedding 100% fit their style!
We started the day with getting ready photos and then headed out to the woods to do their first look. After that we had a few minutes of downtime (check out the photos of her and her dad – there aren’t enough tissues in the world for those moments!) before heading out for the ceremony in front of beautiful 14,000 foot Longs Peak. Kat’s mom sang and played the guitar during the ceremony, which was an especially beautiful moment.
Following the ceremony it was yard games and BBQ (they’re from Kansas, after all!) followed by speeches and dancing. They kicked off the party part of the night with a dance off between the bridesmaids and groomsmen, which was a blast! While the party was going on we snuck off to explore the property and snag some photos of the two of them in the beautiful evening light. The night wrapped up with S’mores and a bonfire and if that’s not the perfect end to a Colorado mountain wedding, I don’t know what is!
Here are some photos from their incredible day. Enjoy!
