Sam and Jesse’s Fall Elopement in Colorado

Sam and Jesse’s Fall Elopement in Colorado

Sam and Jesse are recent Colorado transplants and good friends of some former clients of mine. When they got engaged and started planning their wedding they knew pretty quickly that a big wedding just wasn’t their jam. They mentioned this to their friends (my old clients!) who told them allllllllll about their elopement and they reached out to me shortly after. I only had a few more spots available in my calendar for 2021 so we picked a day that was open and started planning their fall elopement in Colorado!

Planning elopements in the fall is always a bit tricky because everybody wants to elope when the aspens are changing – but it’s always really difficult to predict exactly when that will happen. This year was far and away the BEST fall colors I’ve seen in Colorado and these two hit it at the PERFECT time!

We met up near the cabin they were staying in (with Jesse blindfolded! Ha!) and headed up to a beautiful lake surrounded by aspens for their first look. It was a PERFECT fall day and they were just too adorable!

From there it was time to adventure! We headed up the pass and hiked up a ridge line where they spent the evening taking in the view, exchanging vows, doing their first dance, and just generally celebrating their love and this beautiful place they now get to call home.

Just before their ceremony I looked at the mountain behind them and noticed that it was snowing on the peak. I mentioned how freaking cool it would be if it started snowing during their ceremony. Mother Nature delivered. 😉

They said their vows on the ridge line overlooking the valley and literally THE VERY SECOND they did their first kiss as a married couple the flakes started to fall and we all proceeded to lose our damn minds at how perfect it was.

We spent the rest of the evening up on the ridge celebrating and hiked out by headlamp under those cloudy, snowy skies.

The next morning we met up again bright and early to get some photos of these two in the aspens in the beautiful morning light. It was so worth the early alarm (and I was so excited to see them again!)!

Here are some photos from their fall  elopement in Colorado. Enjoy!
