Alex + Wyatt’s Hoh Rainforest + Ruby Beach Elopement

When Alex and Wyatt first reached out about their elopement they weren’t quite sure where they wanted to elope – they just knew that they wanted a really special day in a beautiful place and for their dog Zeus to be a big part of it. After tossing around some ideas we decided that the Olympic Peninsula would be the perfect place dog-friendly elopement! Ruby Beach, the Hoh Rainforest, and other iconic spots in the park couldn’t have made for a better backdrop for this super special day.

One of the biggest challenges in eloping in any national park is that many of them severely restrict where dogs are allowed. Olympic is a little different than a lot of the parks in that dogs actually CAN access some spots – including iconic Ruby Beach! In planning the day we decided to do a big tour of the park, exploring and taking photos along the way! We knew that Zeus would be allowed in some locations but not others so we planned the entire day around making sure he was included where he could be (and comfy at their cabin when he couldn’t!).

We began their day at their ADORABLE AirBnB which was surrounded by rainforest and had it’s own hiking trails. This was the PERFECT spot for their first look and some rainforesty photos with Zeus (since dogs aren’t allowed in the Hoh Rainforest which we visited later). After their first look we set off on an epic all-day adventure around the park, visiting waterfalls, exploring Lake Crescent, and taking in the beautiful fall colors along the way!

In the afternoon we headed back to the cabin and picked up Zeus to head to Ruby Beach for their ceremony! The rain had JUST started to pick up and honestly I don’t think it could have been a better way to end the day. They said their vows on the beach while Zeus hung out nearby. After their ceremony was over the pup ran zoomies around them – I swear he knew what was happening! Honestly this dog-friendly elopement at Ruby Beach was absolutely PERFECT.

I get asked ALL THE TIME what my favorite location is to plan and photograph elopements and honestly? Ruby Beach, the Hoh Rainforest, and Lake Crescent are now at the top of my list. I can’t WAIT to get back out there with more couples (and more dogs!)!

Here are some photos from their day! Enjoy!

I had SO MUCH FUN with these three (dogs are people to, yo!) and am obsessed with how the whole day turned out! If you’d like to plan your own dog-friendly elopement at Ruby Beach, get in touch!
