Windy Point Campground near Breckenridge, Colorado is the PERFECT location for a small wedding ceremony (and if you reserve both the Forest and Lake Loops, a reception as well)! For couples wanting to have a small wedding in the Breckenridge area and want to feel like they are way out in nature (while never really being that far from the trailhead), Windy Point Campground is perfect. Having a small wedding or elopement ceremony at Windy Point Campground also ensures that you have the space all to yourself – something I’m a big fan of (no one wants a bunch of wedding crashers at their elopement!)!

Now that I’ve talked about how great I think this place is, on to their wedding!

How I helped plan Hannah and jvon’s windy point campground wedding

Hannah and Jvon live in the St Louis area but love the Colorado mountains and come out as often as they can. They love skiing and snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer (fun fact – their AirBnB was right below Mt Democrat, a 14,000 foot mountain they climbed on one of their previous trips!). For their intimate, elopement-inspired wedding they knew they wanted to incorporate their love of the mountains, a small group of their friends and family, and their two pups

After tossing around some ideas we decided on a ceremony with their family and friends and then a private elopement-inspired adventure with just the two of them. I suggested Windy Point Campground for their ceremony and saw that they had VERY limited availability – but that the Forest Loop happened to be available on their date! I emailed them right away and suggested they book it and, thankfully, they did. It was perfect!

We began their day at the stunning AirBnB they rented just above the tiny town of Alma, Colorado. When I arrived Hannah had already had her hair and makeup done and Jvon was getting ready downstairs. The rest of their guests (and the dogs!) were just hanging out and enjoying the day. Since Jvon had already seen her dress, we skipped the first look and they got ready together (with the pups watching, of course)! Once everyone was ready we headed out to Windy Point Campground for their ceremony.

One of my favorite moments from the day was when we were walking up to the ceremony site on the Forest Loop and Hannah saw their ceremony spot for the first time. She jumped up and down and said something to the effect of “OH F*CK YEAH!!!!!” – and honestly that’s the reaction I hope everyone has at least once on their elopement day. That’s when I know I nailed it. 😉

After their sweet ceremony, surrounded by family and friends, we took some family photos, sent all the guests back to town for the rest of the afternoon, and headed out on a solo adventure! We spent the evening exploring one of my favorite spots in the mountains, taking pictures, and enjoying the stunning scenery and PERFECT Colorado weather.
