Bringing a laid-back, elopement-style vibe to your small wedding

I have a special place in my heart for couples who want to elope but who just can’t leave their people behind – which is why helping these folks put together intimate weddings that achieve all of these goals is one of my favorite things to do!

I believe that it’s YOUR day and you should be able to get married however you want – even if that involves bringing along some guests!

Dreaming of something between a wedding and elopement?

Welcome to your intimate wedding!

Intimate weddings (the way I do them!) combine the best of both worlds. You get a laid back day that suits your style, and get to spend some or all of it with your people.

This looks different for every couple and I love crafting experiences that strike JUST the right balance between elopement and wedding.

Past couples have:

  • Rented Jeeps and taken a handful of family into a backcountry basin for their ceremony
  • Hiked into a beautiful valley for private, sunrise vows before meeting up with their family at an AirBnB for their ceremony
  • Rented a guest ranch for their wedding and spent the week horseback riding and hiking with their family before their wedding day
  • Hiked to an alpine lake for an epic sunrise (just the two of them) and then had a ceremony with family and friends in a National Park

I had no idea what the entire picture of our wedding would look like in the beginning, but Jen took what was important to us and crafted the most beautiful experience I could ever imagine!

Sample microwedding timelines

While a microwedding can obviously follow the timeline of a traditional wedding, my couples often like to do it a little different. Typically people come to me wanting to bring an elopement-style vibe to their small wedding.

What does this mean? Usually it means spending time with family and friends … while also having some solo time in nature.

Here are a couple timelines from real microweddings to give you an idea of what your day could look like!

FAQ

The short answer? Semantics, mostly.

Some elopements do have guests and people often use the terms interchangeably and you are free to use whatever you want!

My approach to your day is the same whether you have 2 guests or 20. It’s all about helping you strike the perfect balance between time with your people and time to yourselves.

No. I work with couples planning small weddings of all sizes – which is especially good if you’re not quite sure of how many guests you are having (or if you’re having any at all!).

Generally speaking, my couples typically have 0-20-ish guests but there is no hard limit!

Maybe.

This will depend on how many guests you have and is something I’m here to help you with! Besides having your ceremony on public lands, there are a lot of beautiful, reservable options that will give you privacy and a guaranteed spot this all yours.

Let’s chat about it!

Absolutely! It’s very common for my couples to split their day (or even split two days!) between time with their friends and families and time alone on an elopement-style adventure.

I’m here to help you figure out the logistics of all of it!

Generally speaking, most couples who are planning an intimate wedding book me 6-12 months out. Having said that, I can often take couples on much shorter notice so don’t be afraid to reach out!

NO worries! I regularly have couples add guests to their elopement or subtract guests (sometimes all of them!) from their intimate wedding.

My pricing is exactly the same for both, giving you total flexibility to add to or cut from the guest list.
