Britney + Ryan’s Colorado Jeep Elopement
When Brittney and Ryan first reached out they new they wanted to get married in the beautiful San Juan mountains with a handful of guests but they didn’t know how to make it happen. After chatting with them about what they envisioned for their day we decided an adventurous Jeep elopement in Colorado would be PERFECT for them!
Brittney and Ryan are high school sweethearts who live in Colorado with their sweet little rescue chihuahua Lola who may or may not have been the star of the day. We hit it off immediately and bonded over a love of the outdoors and dogs (obviously)!
Getting Ready + an Adorable First Look
We started the day at the cute house they rented in Ridgway (side note: I want to move to Ridgway. It’s beautiful there!). Brittney had already had her hair and makeup done when I arrived so I just hung out with them while they finished getting ready. Her mom and Ryan’s mom helped her get dressed and laced into her boots and then it was time for one of the cutest first looks ever!
Jeep Ride to the Ceremony
After the first look was over the real adventure could begin! Everyone piled into a couple Jeeps that had been rented for the occasion and we headed up to one of my absolute FAVORITE places to photograph elopements high in the San Juan mountains. Now that I’ve shot a couple adventurous Jeep elopements I’m suggesting them to ALL of my couples who want to get somewhere epic but don’t necessarily want to do a long hike to get there.
After we made our way up the bumpy, 4×4 road we scoped out a spot for their ceremony! They said their vows surrounded by their family, friends, and the beautiful San Juan mountains. Little Lola wanted nothing more than to curl up on mom’s dress and basically did it every chance she got for the day – it was ADORABLE!
Cake + Champagne
After the ceremony it was time to celebrate! Brittney’s mom set up a super cute spread on the back of one of the Jeeps and they popped champagne and ate cake with their people (while Lola looked for more comfy places to lay. ha!)
Adventure time!
After a while we sent their families back to town while Brittney, Ryan, Lola, and I spent the next several hours exploring, taking photos, and enjoying the PERFECT evening in the mountains. There was a first dance at 12,000 feet, a sketchy 4×4 road, some waterfalls, and LOTS of laughs. They kept commenting that the day had been absolutely perfect and I have to agree with them!!
