Breanne + Alex’s Stunning Mountain Elopement
a gorgeous intimate wedding and sunrise adventure in the colorado mountains
When Breanne and Alex first reached out to me about photographing their itty bitty wedding in the mountains of Colorado they didn’t know exactly what they wanted – they just knew a big wedding was NOT for them! Instead of all of the stress, expense, and expectations of a traditional wedding they decided to go on an adventure to a place they had never been – Colorado! – and get married there!
They came out to Colorado with pup Ivy and a handful of family and friends to celebrate their love in a way that felt like THEM. And it was perfect.
We began the day at a cabin they rented in the mountains. Breanne’s best friend did her hair and makeup while the boys hung out downstairs. Once everyone was ready we headed up to one of my favorite spots in the mountains for a first look next to a waterfall!
After a while their people met up with us and we all watched as a bunch of mountain goats grazed nearby. I’m pretty sure they were the cutest wedding crashers EVER!!!!
Breanne and Alex had their ceremony next to the lake with their uncle officiating and Ivy standing in as best dog. After the ceremony was over we hung out for a while, took a bunch of pictures, and enjoyed the perfect mountain evening before they headed back to the AirBnB for tamales!
The next morning we met up again to hike into the mountains for sunrise so they could read private vows and enjoy watching the sun rise over the peaks. Getting up for sunrise is NEVER easy but it is always so, so worth it!!
