a magical morning elopement at san sophia overlook

Molly and Brad knew they wanted something “classy but adventurous” for their Colorado elopement and boy did their Telluride elopement deliver! They reached out to me just a couple weeks before the day they wanted to elope in the mountains of Colorado. Fortunately I was able to get them on my schedule – sometimes last minute booking just work out! In their initial consultation they told me that they had seen photos of San Sophia overlook in Telluride and that that was the vibe they wanted for their elopement. They said it didn’t HAVE to be San Sophia but after tossing around a bunch of different options they knew it was still what they had in mind!

They flew out from Georgia along with Molly’s uncle and his partner and spent the week before their elopement exploring the area, going fly fishing, and taking in the perfect fall weather. On the morning of their elopement I met them at their hotel in Telluride before sunrise while Kim J worked her magic. They did a quick first look at the hotel and then we caught the first gondola to the top of the mountain for sunrise!

San Sophia Overlook at sunrise did not disappoint. Molly’s uncle officiated the most beautiful ceremony on the deck overlooking the mountains and town. Just as they said their vows the sun peaked over the mountains and the entire place was flooded with dreamy, glowy light. It. Was. Perfect.

After the ceremony it was time to go adventure! We all hopped in a Jeep and bumped our way up the road to Bridal Veil Falls where we explored, took some photos, and enjoyed the stunning scenery. From there we dropped off the uncles and headed up a bumpy, narrow, mountain pass to end the day with some killer views!
