Clint + Clarissa’s Snowy Colorado Microwedding in the Mountains

Clint and Clarissa live in Texas but knew they wanted to come to Colorado get married – and that they wanted just a handful of their nearest and dearest their to celebrate with them! Their day ended up being perfect – despite a VERY last minute minor change (ok, it was a pretty major change – we’ll talk about that in a minute!). I’m so excited to share their Colorado microwedding in the mountains with you!

Clint and Clarissa’s intimate wedding was in the fall in the mountains, right at the time when the weather really starts to turn. The week before their wedding we got our first snowstorm of the year which blanketed everything in white. We were stoked … until we looked at the weather forecast and saw that the mild-ish snowy-ish weather was about to turn into a blizzard. And that that blizzard was going to start on their wedding day.

I called them two days before their wedding and told them that I was fine moving things up by a day if it worked for everyone else. With a busy schedule I can’t always be that flexible but I try to do what I can! This time we were lucky. After discussing it with their other vendors and family they decided to go for it – which meant their wedding was happening the VERY next day!

Despite the last minute change of plans, things went off without a hitch! We had beautiful snow on the ground but temperatures that weren’t too bad and we were able to easily make it to all the places we wanted to go (and yanno, not be stuck in a whiteout in the middle of their ceremony! ha!). The only problem was that they had had several things (cookies, the bottom of Clarissa’s boots …) customized with the date and now all of those things had the wrong date! We all got a good laugh out of it!

I met them at their AMAZING VRBO in Blue River where they were getting ready and then they did their first look on the porch of the rental property. After that we made our way up and over Hoosier Pass to the South Park Saloon in Alma for lunch and then it was time to adventure! We caravaned up the snowy road to their ceremony site where we met up with their officiant Leslie. Clarissa dad and uncle walked her down an “aisle” (aka trail!) between giant pine trees and they said their vows next to a waterfall. It was perfect!

After the ceremony we took some photos and explored the area before heading back to the house for cake and toasts (and to warm up after being out in the cold!)

It was such a PERFECT day and these two handled the tough conditions like champs.

Here are some photos from their snowy microwedding in the Colorado. mountains. Enjoy!
