I'm a Colorado-based destination elopement photographer who helps couples have unforgettable elopements in the Rocky Mountains and destinations worldwide.

I'm Jen Dz

Lindsey and Cresten live here in Colorado and had been together for ten years when they decided it was finally time to do the thing! When they first reached out to me they said that nature was one of the things that brought them together and that they really wanted mountains, trees, water, and colorful leaves to be a part of their day and their Breckenridge, Colorado elopement brought all of that and so much more!

I met up with them at their hotel in Breck where their hair and makeup artist Victoria was putting the finishing touches on Lindsey’s makeup while Cresten hung out on the deck. Once everyone was ready we loaded up in my van (with the curtain pulled between them!) and headed to a patch of aspens for their first look. When I scouted the area earlier in the day there had been a moose milling around. I hoped he would make an appearance again but no such luck – it was still magical!

The sun was shining for their first look but clouds were starting to roll in in the afternoon. We headed up to one of my favorite spots in the mountains where we met their officiant Phil Gallagher and went for a short hike up to a secluded lake. Just as we got there the snow started to fall. It’s rare that you get fall colors AND snow on the same day – these two lucked out!

Phil guided them through a beautiful ceremony next to a lake, at the base of a 14,000 foot mountain as the snow fell all around them. Honestly? It was MAGICAL.

After their ceremony we spent some time exploring the area and then headed to the lake! Kayaking is a big part of these two’s relationship and they really wanted to get out on the water as part of their day. Ask and ye shall receive! 🙂 Fortunately the snow had stopped by that point and the temperature was relatively warm (considering that it had been dumping snow just before this!)!

They paddled around on the lake for a while and then it was time for cake and champagne! We had a little celebratory picnic on a picnic table next to the lake, surrounded by yellow leaves, and it was the perfect way to end the day!

Here are some photos from their Breckenridge, Colorado elopement! Enjoy!
