Tiffany + Jared’s Western-Inspired Wyoming Elopement

Tiffany and Jared live in Wisconsin but have a deep love for big sky country and all things Western. When they first reached out to me about photographing their elopement, they knew that they wanted their love of western culture to be a big part of the vibe of the day. Tiffany’s exact words, back when we first talked, were “I have this vision of getting married in front of a herd of buffalo …”. We tossed around various ideas for the National Parks in Montana and Wyoming but in the end decided to forgo the crowds (and the buffalo!) and head off the beaten path instead for their Wyoming elopement. It was perfect!

I met up with them on the morning of their elopement while they were getting ready in the cutest cabin. While Kim J Beauty was working her magic someone knocked on the door. It was a guy who had seen me walk into the cabin with all my camera gear. He said “Are you a photographer? Because there is a moose RIGHT outside the cabin!”. Sure enough, a young bull moose was munching on the foliage on the cabin next door! He ended up hanging out there ALL morning. Little did we know that that was the first of a LOT of wildlife we would see over the course of the day!

After Tiffany and Jared were ready to go we met up with her officiant, Joann, and headed to the ceremony spot which overlooked a valley and the mountains. Their only wedding guest was a chipmunk that sat on a rock and watched the whole thing go down! Cutest little wedding guest ever. 🙂

Following the ceremony we chilled at their cabin for a little bit and then headed out for an adventure! After tossing around a bunch of ideas for where to go we decided to head up the Green River to a spot with a lake and an incredible view of Square Top Mountain. We stopped along the way to take some photos, watch the wildlife (moose, pronghorns, and … cows!) and then spent the afternoon and evening just soaking in ALL THAT BEAUTY. We explored, hung out on the shore of a lake, and just generally enjoyed the day. The skies were a little hazy from wildfire smoke but it was still absolutely stunning!

Eventually (sadly!) we decided it was time to leave that magical place and hopped in the van to head back to town but not without stopping a few times for photos and to watch the moon rise over the mountains.

Here are some photos from their day – enjoy!

Huge thanks to the folks who helped make this day so amazing!
