I met Mandy, David, and their pup Cascade on a cold, dark morning in the mountains last year. I had a new location I wanted to try out and had put out a model call looking for an adventurous, outdoorsy couple who wasn’t afraid of heights or early mornings to hike in to an epic location and model for me. They fit the bill perfectly! We hit it off immediately and I was STOKED when they asked me to shoot their Estes Park wedding!
Let this be a word of warning: be careful answering one of my model calls. You might be stuck with me forever! 😉
Mandy and David met while working for a guiding company in Utah. Eventually life brought them to Colorado and they’ve been here ever since. These guys are avid outdoors people – hiking, climbing, skiing – you name it, they do it!
If I had one word to describe them (other than “adventurous”, which is obvious!) it would be “laid-back” and “fun”. Ok, that’s two words. One word isn’t enough!
Everything about their wedding day fit their personalities perfectly! From David’s surprise bowtie at their first look (see the photos below!) to Mandy’s wedding shoes (which were Chacos! Have I mentioned that we’re basically soul mates?!) to their adorable flower dog, their wedding was perfectly them.
They had an intimate wedding at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado, surrounded by around 45 of their closest friends and family. Their day was full of laughter, a little bit of rain, and scrambling on rocks (in wedding attire, and with a load of heavy camera gear) of course! It couldn’t have been better.
I’ve had an amazing time getting to know these guys over the last ten months and am happy to now call them friends.
Here are some photos from their day – enjoy! 🙂
